Here you’re going to find my top home decor trends for A/W 2018 because I just love spending time at home in winter, whether it’s baking, watching films, eating or writing.
Got some space on the mantelpiece and you don’t know what to fill it with? Or maybe you’re looking to brighten up your home? Either way, you’ve definitely come to the right place.

First off, I’m a total sucker for ambient lighting, lanterns are my go-to because they are super atmospheric. I’d have them all over my home if I could (there’s an idea…).
The glow that the lanterns give off create a really warm backdrop – you won’t want to leave the house. I also like getting yellow or orange bulbs for them so make the light super soft. I got my lanterns from Dunelm (UK), you can find them here. All in all, lanterns are a go-to in terms of winter home accessories.
A luxurious fruit bowl
Clementines fill my fruit bowl in Winter, along with pears and grapefruit – the best fruits. So we’ve got to keep them in the best bowl, right? In Winter, I really like gold and copper tones – it’s usually dull and bleak outside so the golden sparkle really brightens the room. Which is why this bowl is one of my absolute favourite winter home accessories! I got mine from Debenhams but I can’t find it online, I really like the gold wire ones at the moment too though, you can find them here.
Originally, I got mine just for some extra storage, but I have not looked back. They add a ‘rustic’ look and in Winter, they are perfect to keep extra blankets and pillows for when it gets cold.
You can find these ones at Ikea, here’s the link.
Having snug cushions surrounding you is seriously underrated. Personally, I prefer feathered cushions and a velvet material. As soon as I sink into them I’m not moving! Winter home accessories should always keep you cosy and comfy.
Candles, candles and more candles
OK, so this ones a total given. Candles make the whole room smell delicious and feel mellow. At the moment, I’m loving candles that smell of cinnamon, vanilla and spice. One of my favourites is Hogmanay by Shearer Candles, but an all-year-round classic is Grapefruit by Jo Malone.
A huge mug or cup
How else are you going to hold all the tea you’ll be drinking!? Seriously though, give me a giant mug of tea and some chocolate digestives and I’m the happiest girl going. I got my favourite mug from Flying Tiger – it holds a decent sized cuppa and the colours are super Autumnal.
I love buying new cups (I definitely have too many already), but I drink a lot of tea. In fact, I think I’m going to write a post on my favourite teas soon…
That’s all for now, I hope you found some inspiration in my favourite home decor items for Autumn/Winter 2018.
